I was surprised by the 30 years, but mostly because it seems like I’ve heard a lot of stories of people getting 15 to life for murder, which seems short. I always expect murder to have the most severe punishment. Of course it sounds like this was multiple counts, which can add up.

I used to have a friend that did 8 years for murder. Dude hit the 3 strike rule though he’s out for life no parole.
