It’s a sobering example of the hypocrisy that lurks behind closed doors. Especially after hearing him so passionately speak about stopping sex trafficking. I don’t think it was a lapse of judgement, it sounds more like he thought the letter wouldn’t go public and tried to back hard. Remember kids: don’t get famous and post online.

What gets me is how every person he helped arrest, he gave none of them the benefit of “innocent until proven guilty” that’s only for his buddy Danny. He didn’t send any letters of support for any of those rapists after they were convicted. He only cares about victims, so long as they’re not the victims of his friends.

My favourite part in the letter was when he was praising Danny for his anti drug stance, while Danny’s on trial for drugging and raping women…

Hey, Danny was still drug free though! /s

I heard he only peddled the anti-drug message because of Scientology, though not sure he even was part of it back then. But I look at it another way: from the beginning he was aggressively controlling to his friends. Sure, maybe it had a nice benefit of making them drug free. But he forced them into a pact and I imagine there were consequences for violating it. Doesn’t sound like they had much of a choice, he was older too.

It definitely is a different story when your (presumably) really good friend with industry connections is a piece of shit compared to just doing the right thing without risking anything, even getting praise for it. He’s just a human with maybe less than average integrity who did good when it suited him. Who can really say why they wrote the letter.

To be fair, associating with a sex abuse organisation that’s also anti-child was probably deleterious to his reputation to begin with…

Dude, wtf is wrong with you? He wasn’t in the movies because he and his wife both decided to work to help to prevent child abuse and rapes. I know nothing about you, but gosh, you sound super toxic.

I am not informed about what he did exactly to help children and if he actually did help them I commend him for it in the highest form.

But as a European I have mainly seen him lobby for dystopian online control systems.

It is hard for me to judge if he is a cynic that uses children for his lobbying (as is usual by people that want to destroy freedoms online and offline) or an idealist that went the very wrong way at some point, but at least his political efforts in Europe are not a good thing at all.

And that he is speaking up for a violent rapist does not make me want to give him the benefit of the doubt.

I don’t know much about him either and i don’t want to start a debate trying to make him look good. Yet, the message i answered to was giving me creepy toxic vibes so much i was worried is the guy who said it okay or not
