McDonald’s operates in many, many countries, several of which require minimum wage way higher than what they pay workers in the US. I’m sure they’ll be fine.
It could be an issue of scale. The US has over 10,000 more McDonalds than the the #2 country, while also having the fewest number of people per store. Maybe the US’s love of fast food makes up for this, maybe not.
