The number of reported infections has nearly tripled in the two weeks since the Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced the outbreak, which appears to be linked to Malichita or Rudy brand cantaloupes.
US and Canada
Nope. I’m a new convert and I love it. Laptop monitor to the left of the big landscape for random screens. It’s fantastic
The q&a is super interesting, strongly recommend reading past the headline here
Ya I think so. These are always tech articles and Foss software is always a big feature.
But 1password has on going audits and a sane ui and mobile apps that pass the boomer-parent test. Canadian company too which is nice given the US centric tech world.
But are they worse than Microsoft’s?
Ehhh I think the downplays the essay’s excellent arfument
FTA:
THIS DISTINCTION between a “housing crisis” and a rental market that enables exploitation has practical implications. How we talk about these issues shapes what we conceive as possible and desirable responses to them.
It has m/m and y/y
“I don’t know what their thinking is,” Da Silva said. “But I don’t think it’s fair to ask people to not work and to basically shut down the industry for six months.”
I mean, I think it’s pretty clear they want to kill the industry. Absolutely bizarre.
It’s quite telling they are trying some sustainability argument while having previously pushed for more open pit coal mining on the eastern slopes of the Rockies

I think it’s trying to say that the gasoline cars have no fuel in them when transported (thus less fire risk) versus the batteries which can still burn when “empty” (which I doubt they are)
At least the front didn’t fall off
I have, just many moons ago. I’ll take another read. Very pertinent
Which book is this from?
Deserts are no joke. The great read of the missing Germans exemplifies the danger of these areas.
On Saturday night, flood water from a burst river bank poured into the underpass, quickly trapping people in their cars and commuters on a bus.
Ya that’s nightmare material
Allowing death with dignity on a person’s terms is fantastic. I just hope we continue to support them until thr very end to ensure dignity the whole way
The main mystery is the fact that adults of the same insect species don’t have any gearing—as the juveniles grow up and their skin molts away, they fail to regrow these gear teeth, and the adult legs are synchronized by an alternate mechanism (a series of protrusions extend from both hind legs, and push the other leg into action).
Burrows and Sutton hypothesize that this could be explained by the fragility of the gearing: if one tooth breaks, it limits the effectiveness of the design. This isn’t such a big problem for the juveniles, who repeatedly molt and grow new gears before adulthood, but for the mature Issus, replacing the teeth would be impossible—hence the alternate arrangement.
Well that’s exceptionally neat
I’m not sure I love this reasoning:
Dave Bryans, the chief executive officer of the Ontario Convenience Stores Association, has been pushing for beer sales for years, as a way to revive an industry still struggling with the decline of tobacco use.
This is so dumb that I totally beleive it
