exactly. hurts reddit without affecting the community a whole lol.

that’s why I hope that some subs go read-only. keeps the information that has been gathered over the last few years, while making it so people mostly don’t interact with it in their feeds anymore

does stylebot work on Firefox and mobile?

yeah it’s nice knowing that someone is gonna see my comment instead of it getting lost amongst hundreds. feels a lot more like a community that way

i mean so far, I’m enjoying it. sure, the community isn’t as large, but that’s mostly a good thing. on reddit, if i made a post, it would be like a 25% chance to get hundreds of comments, and a 75% chance to get none. here, I’ve gotten a few, high quality responses on every question post I’ve made. i do miss the “auto hide read posts” feature, but maybe that’ll get added some day

i swear, schools will do everything they can to stop you from taking a piss when you need

theres a new one going private every like 5 seconds, and the list of how many are supposed to keeps growing. up to nearly 7k as of rn, so thats 400 more in the past 30 mins

there are a few, such as r/196, but most are only doing it for 48 hours unfortunately.

I’ll use both then. reddit is still unparalleled for support, simply because of its sheer size

and here i was, truly believing that they would reconsider. as of right now ~4000 of the planned 6600 subs have gone private, if that isn’t enough then oh well

I’m mostly sad about losing the communites i loved, for which I have not yet found a comarable one on lemmy. r/cars and r/cartalk mostly

out of curiosity, what alternatives are you using? im only on lemmy rn but i wanna try other stuff out

yep. this is why i might still occasionally use reddit after this. r/askmechanics was so incredibly useful
