Tipping has gotten worse over the past few years with all the touch screens they turn around which have a tip option on them. Are we expected to tip for someone setting a bag on a counter?

I’m one of the suckers who always tips, but I also worry that those tips aren’t actually getting to the workers. I would much prefer a system that just pays them a living wage!

I do it too, because I don’t know how the restaurant works. Does it go to the person at the register? Does it go to the cooks who actually did the work to make the meal? Does it go to the owner… who isn’t supposed to accept tips?

I do it out of guilt, because they’re sitting there looking at you. But then I resent the whole system afterward and feel like a dope.

I don’t even know what the tipping rules are anymore. It’s just needs go away.

when i’m that worried about the tips getting to the right hands, i tip in cash. its a small inconvenience to carry some cash but then i know its going into the employee’s hand. might just be a placebo, but what else can i do lol

Just hit the “no tip” button and move on with life. Sure, it’s dumb that it even comes up; but, it’s very likely a case of software set at it’s defaults and the management thinking, “why not?”
